Description
This is a mid-19th century terrace of four symmetrical houses, numbered 174 to 178, Albion Road. The houses are three storeys high with a basement, each originally featuring two windows. The central house projects slightly and has stuccoed angle pilasters. The houses are built of yellow brick with a stucco frieze, cornice, and blocking course, topped by a raised, pediment-shaped central parapet; however, the cornice was lost from number 174. The ground floor is stuccoed, with number 176 rusticated to create the appearance of voussoirs around a segment-headed door and window. The other houses have a recessed arcade with moulded architraves and an impost band. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars. The front doors are half-glazed, four-panel doors with rectangular fanlights. Numbers 174 and 178 each have a two-storey entrance extension to the outer side.
Numbers 166 to 184 (even) form a group.
