Description

This is an early 19th century terrace of houses, numbered 107 to 131, located on Shepherdess Walk in London. The terrace consists of 27 houses, each with three storeys and a basement, and originally two windows wide. The majority of the houses are constructed of stock brick with a stucco frieze, cornice, and blocking course. Numbers 113 to 119 have a stone-coped brick parapet instead. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, set within stucco surrounds with gauged flat brick arches. Many of the long first-floor windows are situated in round-arched recesses and are accompanied by cast iron balconies. The ground floor features banded rusticated stucco, with round-headed windows and four-panel doors, frequently including patterned fanlights, all set within round arched recesses. An arched wrought iron shelter covers the area. Numbers 107 to 133 (odd) are considered to form a group of local interest with numbers 85 to 105, together with their forecourt railings.
