Description
Nos 526 to 532 on Kingsland Road, dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century, form a pair of three-storey buildings. Each building has two windows in the main block and slightly lower outer entrance extensions that are set back. They are constructed of stock brick with a parapet, although the top has been altered. The sash windows feature stuccoed arches, but the bars have been lost. Fire insurance signs can be found at the centre of the first floor. The ground floor has projecting shops. The side wings include round windows at the first floor and lunettes above. The interior, currently in factory use, retains a graceful staircase with carved tread ends, a ramped handrail, and dado panelling. The front door consists of four fielded and two beaded panels, topped with a fanlight that has interlacing bars.
