Description

The embankment wall with cast iron lamp standards was built around 1864-70 by Sir Joseph Bazalgette. It features a granite retaining wall and parapet, complete with piers and stairs. The wall is adorned with elaborate cast iron lamp standards that showcase intertwined fish and globular lanterns, which stand on dies in the parapet.
