Description
Nos 68 to 72 on Queen Victoria Street, built around 1870, feature a stone-faced façade in a restrained French classical style. The ground floor has shopfronts situated between pilasters, topped with a frieze and a dentil cornice. Number 70 possibly retains its original shopfront, which includes three round-headed arches. The first and second floors are connected by channelled pilaster strips. The first-floor windows are round-headed, adorned with escutcheons and garlands, with the central window featuring a broken segmental pediment. The second-floor windows are segmental-headed and have deeply projecting sills. Above this, the third floor is treated as an attic, set above a dentil cornice, and features a pierced crowning balustrade with a central inset stone dormer that has a broken segmental pediment. The building has a slated roof.
