Description
Holland House, built in 1914 by Berlage, is a Grade II* listed building located on Bury Street. The structure includes Nos. 1 to 4, which form a long, separate frontage, and No. 32, which has a narrow frontage with a short return to the east. The building stands six storeys tall, with Nos. 1 and 2 set back from the street. The base and doorways are finished in polished black marble, while the upper part is faced with faience, featuring pronounced vertical ribs and sunk panels beneath the windows, along with a pierced parapet. The entrance to No. 32 is now blocked, but it features a carved corner with a stylised prow of a ship. The main entrance showcases wall decoration in glazed brick and tile, along with mosaic panels on the beamed ceiling. The rear of the premises has been rebuilt to a greater height.
