Description

This is a terrace of 11 houses built around 1803-1806 by architect James Burton and constructed by W.E. Allen. The buildings are made of yellow stock brick with stucco ground floors, which are mostly rusticated. Number 11 features a slate mansard roof with dormers. The terrace consists of four storeys and basements, with Number 11 also having an attic. Each house typically has three windows, except for Numbers 1 and 2, which each have four windows. Numbers 1 and 2 are designed as a symmetrical pair with projecting end window bays, while Number 11 is slightly recessed.

The round-arched doorways have reeded doorframes or sidelights, with most featuring two-leaf doors. Numbers 8 to 10 are distinguished by attached fluted Greek Doric columns that support cornice-heads. Numbers 6 and 7 have radial patterned fanlights above their doors. The recessed sash windows have gauged brick flat arches, and most retain their original glazing bars. The first floor includes cast-iron balconies, and Numbers 1 and 2 have a stucco cornice at the third floor level, while the others have a third-floor sill band. All houses have parapets.

The terrace also features attached cast-iron railings with urn finials in front of the areas, and Number 1 is flanked by cast-iron lamp-holders. The interiors have not been inspected.
