Description

Number 30 is an end of terrace house built around 1836 for the Trustees of the Bloomsbury Savings Bank. It is constructed of yellow stock brick with a stucco ground floor and has four storeys plus a basement, featuring three windows. On the left side, there is a later single-storey entrance extension from the mid-19th century, which has a blocked doorway with rusticated block jambs and a bracketed cornice. To the right on the ground floor, window bays are separated by wide pilasters that support an entablature. The entrance is square-headed and includes a rectangular fanlight above a panelled door adorned with nail-head ornament. The recessed sash windows have gauged flat brick arches and original glazing bars. A continuous cast-iron balcony is present at the first-floor windows, and there is a stucco cornice at the third-floor level, topped by a parapet.

The interior has not been inspected. The property features attached cast-iron railings with urn finials in front of the areas, and the mid-19th century entrance is flanked by lamp standards on stone bases. Historically, the house was likely occupied by the actuary or accountant of the bank.
