Description

This is a symmetrical terrace of eight houses located in Camden, built in the mid-19th century. The houses are constructed of yellow brick with blue brick bands and stucco dressings, and have slated roofs with overhanging eaves supported by brackets. Numbers 1 and 11 slightly project and both have pediments. Each house has three storeys and a basement, with two windows on each floor. They feature prostyle porticos and panelled doors with overlights. The ground floor windows are tripartite sashes with channelled stucco voussoirs, keystones and a triglyph with guttae drops, and have cast-iron window guards to the bracketed cornice sills. The first-floor sashes are architraved with bracketed cornices and pediments, with cast-iron window guards and a continuous sill band. The second-floor sashes have bracketed sills and a continuous sill band, flanked at the top by large, enriched eaves brackets. The interiors remain uninspected. Attached cast-iron railings with spearhead finials are present to the areas. The terrace forms a significant and complete group.
