Description
East Lodge to Kenwood House, built around 1795 by George Saunders, is a lodge located on the south side of Hampstead Lane in Camden. The building is constructed of grey brick and features a slated roof with a central octagonal chimney. It has sashed windows set beneath gauged flat arches and includes a projecting wing with a pediment facing the road. There is a 20th-century addition at the rear that has been carefully matched in brick and style. The lodge is flanked by brick gate piers topped with stone copings, which support wrought-iron overthrows and wooden gates designed in a rustic style. This building was previously listed under Barnet and transferred to Camden in 1994.
