Description
No. 65 Lincoln's Inn Fields is a Grade II* listed house built in 1772 by Thomas Leverton for H. Kendall. The building features a stone facade with a rusticated ground floor and stands four storeys tall with a basement.
The facade includes three windows, with ground floor openings that have semicircular heads and plain recessed jambs. The doorway is adorned with a fanlight and a panelled door. The second and third floors have square-headed sash windows with original glazing bars, while the first floor windows are set on a plinth with a blind balustrade below, and the center window is pedimented. At the third floor level, there is a main entablature with a dentil cornice and a fluted frieze decorated with paterae. The fourth storey is an attic featuring a cornice and a balustraded parapet above.
Inside, the house boasts crinoline-shaped balusters on the stone staircase and well-preserved Adam-style ceilings in the first floor rooms.
