Description

The tomb of Charles Green Spencer is located in Highgate (Western) Cemetery and dates from around 1890. It is made of stone and features a pedestal on a stepped inscribed base. The pedestal is adorned with a carved relief of an ascending hot air balloon, along with an inscription and a projecting cornice. Charles Green Spencer was known as a balloonist and was the head of C.G Spencer and Sons, aeronauts based in Holloway.
