Description
This detached house was built around 1889 by Harry Measures, with construction carried out by William Willet & Son. The ground floor is built of red brick, while the upper floors are of yellow brick with red brick dressings and pilasters at the corners. The roof is tiled, with hipped and gabled sections, dormers, and tall brick chimney stacks featuring projecting cornices and moulded brick eaves. The building has an asymmetrical design, extending over three storeys, an attic, and a semi-basement.
The exterior has an irregular arrangement of five windows. Most windows are sashes with glazing bars only to the upper halves, set within gauged brick flat arches with keystones. A slightly recessed entrance is marked by a brick portico with a round-arched entrance featuring a keystone on pillars, an enriched terracotta frieze with a pedimented detail, and a copper ogee profile hood. The doorway has a round arch and a narrow overlight. Two sashes with stained glass appear on each upper floor; moulded brick sill bands continue across the facade as cornices. A central, slightly projecting bay features a three-light transom and mullion stained glass window on the ground floor, and paired sashes above. This bay is topped with a scrolled pediment. The right-hand bay has a three-light canted bay window with continuous bracketed sills running from the semi-basement through the first floor, terminating in a parapet on the second floor. A crow-stepped gable is topped with a keyed oculus and finial.
The interior has not been inspected.
