Description
This is a monument located in the courtyard of St Katharine's Precinct, dating from around 1828. It features a stone, hexagonal column that stands on a hexagonal stepped base. Each side of the column has a shallow, square-headed, cusped niche adorned with sculptured scrolled ribbons. At the top, there is a narrow crenellated cornice with small gargoyles at the corners. The column is capped with an ogee top and a finial. The base of the column is surrounded by a cast-iron rail with plain uprights and pointed finials for protection.
