Description
Nos 17 and 18 on Church Street are a pair of early 19th-century houses that feature timber framing and plaster, now covered in roughcast. The buildings stand two storeys high and have a total of four windows. The first storey has double-hung sash windows with glazing bars, while the ground storey includes an early 19th-century shop window flanked by pilasters and topped with a cornice, along with one double-hung sash window that has single vertical glazing bars. There are also two six-panel doors, each with the upper panels glazed and set within plain architraves. The roofs are covered with slate. These houses are part of a group that includes the Parish Church of SS Peter and Paul and other listed buildings on Market Hill.
