Description
Hill House, formerly known as Street Farmhouse, dates from around 1840 and is a two-storey building. It features a front made of gault brick, with random flint on the sides and rear. The roof is hipped and covered with slate, and there are internal chimney stacks. The building has an L-shaped layout with a long rear range that includes a single-storey lean-to extension along its north side.
The street-facing side has three windows, which are small-paned sashes set in cased frames with deep reveals. Each window is adorned with cast iron architraves that end on the ground floor with small console brackets. The central doorway consists of a four-panel door with raised fielded panels and a rectangular traceried fanlight above it, also framed by a cast iron architrave with console brackets similar to those found over the windows.
