Description
This is an aisled barn located to the north of Wordwell Hall, dating from around 1700. It is constructed with a timber frame and weatherboarding, featuring a half-hipped main roof covered in corrugated asbestos, while part of the aisle roofs are covered with slates. The barn consists of eight bays, with cart entries that have full-height projecting porches in the third and sixth bays. The framing is complete and shows very little reused timber. The arcade posts do not have jowls and are supported by long straight braces. The main span roof lacks principals and is supported by clapsed purlins and a ridge-piece. A 20th-century asbestos farm building has been placed in front of the barn.
