Description

No. 42 High Street is an early 19th-century house featuring two windows and two storeys with attics. It is constructed of gault brick, which has a string course at the first-floor level. The building has parapet gables with tumbled-in brickwork and dentil eaves. The roof is covered with plain tiles and has end chimneys made of gault brick. There are segmental-headed casement dormers and sash windows with flat arches of gauged brick, although a central first-floor window was blocked in the 20th century. The entrance door is a four-panelled design with panelled reveals, a reeded architrave, and a cornice.
