Description

No. 2 Southgate Street is a house dating from the 17th century and later. It has a timber frame that is rendered, with some traces of timber lining, and features a pantiled roof. The building is two storeys high and has a two-window range, with sashes that include vertical glazing bars set in broad flush cased frames. The ground floor has two small 19th-century shop windows with moulded cornices; the window on the left is divided into three lights, while the one on the right is divided into four. The interior has not been inspected, but it is reported to have no exposed timbering.
