Description
The Racing Stables, formerly the racing stables of Euston Hall, have been converted into a house. They date from the late 17th century or early 18th century and are two storeys high, constructed of red brick. The building features a black glazed pantiled roof with overhanging eaves and a dentil cornice. The two sides of the structure project slightly to the east and west. There are five internal chimney-stacks, each with shafts that have recessed semi-circular-headed panels. Surrounding the building are blank arcades that nearly reach the full height of the walls, with a small-paned sash window in a cased frame within each panel. The upper windows are casements with a single bar to the lights and have small semi-circular roofs that rise above the eaves line. Above the entrance door, there is a larger roof over a central small-paned sash window, both of which were added in the mid-20th century. The door and window are set within the area of the original high entrance arch. The design shares some similarities with the main stables that face Euston Hall.
