Description
Chipley Abbey is a 17th century timber-framed house that was refronted in the early 19th century. The main section of the building is constructed of red brick, while the wings are made of random flint and stone with red brick dressings. It has two storeys and features a three-window range of double-hung sash windows with glazing bars, set in painted reveals. The other windows are 20th century casements. At the rear, there is an external chimney breast that rises to two diagonally set shafts. The roof is tiled, dating from the 20th century, and is steeply pitched on the main block.
