Description
This is a mid-19th century store outbuilding located 20 metres northeast of Coldham Hall. It is constructed of flint with red brick quoins and features parapet gables. The roof is covered with pantiles, some of which are glazed. The outbuilding has various 19th-century doors. A prominent feature is the large central timber-framed bell-turret that rises above the roof, which has a clock on all four faces. The dates 1851 and 1927 are painted in roundels within applied half-timbered panels. Above the clock, there is an open belfry that exposes the bells, topped with a copper-covered cupola featuring a ball finial and weathervane. The bell-turret was relocated from an outbuilding at Hardwick House in Bury St. Edmunds when that estate was sold in 1925. This outbuilding is included for its group value with Coldham Hall.
