Description
Norvic House is a 17th-century house that is one-and-a-half storeys high. It features a timber-framed structure that is rendered, topped with a thatched roof, and has an internal chimney stack with a plain red brick shaft. The east wall has been raised, while the west wall is at a higher level. The house has 3-light casement windows with a single bar to the lights, along with a 2-light upper window. On the east side, below the eaves, there is a "Sun" Fire Insurance sign. Inside, the house showcases plain exposed timber work and ceilings, with a side purlin in the roof. The entrance door is recessed and located on the south gable end, and the house is set sideways to the street.
Adjacent to Norvic House is a small 18th-century cottage that is detached but linked at eaves level, forming part of the same property. This cottage is one storey with an attic and has a 2-cell plan. It is also timber-framed and plastered, with a thatched roof and an end chimney stack featuring a white brick shaft. There is a low 19th-century lean-to made of brick and flint along the rear wall. The cottage has two 2-light casement windows with cross-bars and a plank door. The internal framing is of poor quality, and the side purlin roof is in poor repair.
