Description

The Old Barn, Stable End is a barn with a core dating back to the 17th century. It was extended and converted into three cottages around 1880, and it now functions as two dwellings. The front range is timber-framed and roughcast, while the rear addition is a lean-to made of red brick and flint rubble. The building has concrete plaintiled roofs and stands two storeys high, featuring one internal chimney stack and one end chimney stack. On the ground floor, there are three pairs of small-paned sash windows, with one window from each pair being a 20th-century replacement of a former cottage door. The upper storey has three 19th-century three-light casements. There are 20th-century entrance doors located at the rear. The building is included for its group value.
