Description
Mothersoles is an early 16th-century building with an L-shaped plan and two storeys. It features a timber-framed structure, primarily with exposed timbering, and has pantiled roofs. The cross-wing is jettied and includes a single-storey plastered extension on the north side, along with a small timbered extension that forms a porch on the south side. Inside, there is an internal chimney stack in the main range with a large square shaft, which has sunk panels on each face decorated with blue headers. At the south end of the main range, there is an early 17th-century two-bay extension that is plastered externally. The building mainly has mid-20th-century casement windows with square leading and an early 20th-century entrance door. Inside, there is notable timbering and the remains of a plank-and-muntin screen.
