Description

Oakwood is a house that was formerly divided into two cottages. It dates from the 17th century, with a mid-19th century facade. The building has one-and-a-half storeys and a basic two-cell plan. It is timber-framed, with red brick facing on the front and sides, while the back is rendered. The roof is thatched and features a decorated ridge. On each side of the house, there is a single-storey lean-to made of red brick with a pantiled roof. An internal chimney stack has attached saw-tooth shafts on a plain rectangular base. The house has two 2-light casement windows with arched heads and two eyebrow dormers, along with two plank doors.
