Description
The former stable block at St John's Farm, located about 15 meters north of Park House, dates from the early 19th century and was built for the Harrison family. The building features a white brick front and red brick at the rear, topped with hipped slate roofs. It has seven bays and is two storeys high. On the ground floor, there are four stable doors with fanlights, alternating with 12 over 12 pane sash windows, all of which have gauged brick segmental heads. A plat band runs along the first floor, which includes a central loft door flanked by two outer six-light windows. The eaves are marked by projecting brick courses. At each end of the building, there are low coach house bays with large double doors, also featuring gauged brick segmental heads and separate hipped roofs. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value with Park House.
