Description

Numbers 17 and 19 Upper Oakley are two dwellings that form a single long range, likely originally a farmhouse. They date from the 16th to 17th century and were probably built in more than one phase. The buildings are timber framed and plastered, topped with a thatched roof. They stand two storeys high and feature six windows, which are 19th-century two-light casements with small panes. The central doorway for No. 17 has a mid-20th-century plank door. There are internal and gable stacks, each with a pair of 19th-century octagonal shafts topped with star caps. Lean-to additions are present on the left gable end and at the rear. The interiors have not been examined.
