Description
Gipping Weir is an early 19th-century house located on Mill Lane in Great Blakenham. It is two storeys high and features three windows. The building is constructed of gault brick and has very shallow flat corner pilasters. The hipped roof is slated and has internal chimneys made of gault brick, with deep oversailing eaves that include paired modillions. The windows are designed with flat arches made of gauged brick and small-pane sashes. The entrance doorway is notable, featuring a six-panelled door that is recessed between jambs with fielded panels. This doorway is supported by slightly recessed fluted half-columns and is topped by a semi-circular fanlight with radiating bars. Above the fanlight, there is an arch of gauged brick that includes a painted keystone and springing stones.
