Description
The walling of a former stable, located 50 meters west of Coddenham House, dates from around 1770. It was originally built as domestic stabling for Sir Nicholas Bacon, who was the rector of the parish, as Coddenham House served as the rectory until 1965. The structure is made of red brick and features a semicircular-headed arched entry with voussoirs of gauged brick. On either side of the entrance are shallow blind arches that have lunette windows with small-pane casements. The central pediment, copings, and ball finials above the entrance were added around 1980. The walling extends approximately 30 meters on both the south and north sides, while the rest of the building was demolished around 1970. This structure is included for its group value.
