Description
Burlington Cottages are two dwellings that were originally a house, constructed in the 17th century and extended in the 18th century. The building features a timber frame with plastered walls and steeply pitched thatched roofs. It consists of two main cells, likely with a lobby entrance at one time, and has a lower service bay added to the left. The structure is two storeys high.
On the ground floor, the entrances are now located at the ends of the main range. To the left, there is a part panelled and part boarded door with an open gabled timber porch, while to the right, there is a boarded door. The windows are 19th-century glazing bar casements, with two and three lights, and hood boards above them. On the first floor, there is a two-light casement window to the left. The building has a central axial ridge stack, and the added bay to the left features a single light window at the front. There is also an internal end stack.
The gable end has two single light windows in the attic, with exposed plates and purlins. At the rear, there is a lean-to addition made of clay lump and brick with a pantiled roof, which includes an entrance in the added bay with a boarded door. The interior has not been inspected.
