Description

The White House is a house dating from the 16th or 17th century, with early 19th-century alterations. It has two storeys and three windows, and likely follows a three-cell lobby-entrance plan. The building is timber-framed and plastered, with 19th-century gault brick encasing on the side. It features a hipped slated roof with an axial 18th-century chimney made of red brick, which has been recapped with 19th-century gault brick. The windows include three-light early 19th-century casements with transoms. To the right, there is a late 19th-century shop window with diamond-patterned lights at a low level. The entrance consists of a six-panelled early 19th-century door, along with a 19th-century stable-type door to the right.
