Description
The Laurels is a house that was later divided into two dwellings. It dates from the 17th century and was altered in the 20th century. The building has a timber frame that is plastered and features a thatched roof. Originally, it consisted of two cells, which may have been slightly larger. The house is one storey with an attic and has two entrances, one to the left of the center and one at the far right, both of which are now blocked. The windows include 20th-century two-light leaded casements and two-light eyebrow thatched dormers. There is a rebuilt axial ridge stack located at the center of the roof. On the left end, there is a one-storey pantiled lean-to outshut with a 20th-century entrance, and exposed plates and purlins can be seen. The right end features a bracket to the front plate and exposed purlins. Additionally, there is a 20th-century flat-roofed addition at the rear. Inside, there is a stop-chamfered axial binding beam, while the frame is concealed.
