Description
The Grove is a house built in the early 19th century, constructed of white brick with a slate roof. It has two storeys and features a hipped, shallow-pitched roof with a wide eaves overhang. The building has four internal chimney-stacks, each with high narrow rectangular shafts topped by chimney-posts.
On the upper floor, there are three long narrow small-paned sash windows set in deep reveals with flat gauged arches. The ground floor windows have larger individual panes and extend down to ground level. A Roman Doric tetrastyle portico adorns the entrance, which has a six-panelled door with two leaves.
At the south (garden) front, there is a semi-circular two-storey bay topped with a domed lead-covered roof, featuring three windows on each storey. The upper storey windows are 12-pane sashes, while the lower storey windows have deeper panes, similar to those on the front of the house.
