Description

The Banks Monument is a chest tomb located about 25 meters north of the Church of St. Bartholomew in Finningham. It commemorates William and Ann Banks, who both died in 1836, and Mary Ann Banks, who died in 1823. The tomb is made of ashlar and features a moulded base and capping. It has fielded inscribed panels on its long sides, which are separated by fluted pilasters with neck bands. Surrounding the tomb is a railed enclosure with colonnettes at the corners topped with urn finials.
