Description
Shadwell House is a house from the early 19th century, likely with earlier origins. It features a timber frame covered in stucco that has been incised to resemble ashlar. The roof is shallow pitched and covered with slate. The house has a three-cell plan that was altered to include a lobby entrance in the 20th century. It stands two storeys tall, with the entrance located to the left of centre. This entrance has a 19th-century door with two tall round-headed fielded panels, a panelled surround, and a timber porch supported by octagonal columns with an entablature. The windows are glazing bar sashes set in flush moulded frames, and the ground floor has timber hoodmoulds. The building features an offset plinth and boxed eaves, along with a rebuilt ridge stack to the left of centre. The gable has ornamental bargeboards. The interior has not been inspected.
