Description

This is a former farmhouse, now subdivided into two dwellings. It likely dates back to the 16th century, with substantial alterations made in the 17th century. The building is timber-framed and plastered, with a pantiled roof that was originally thatched, and has a half-hipped end. There are two 19th-century pantiled dormers with casement windows. A prominent axial chimney of 17th-century red brick is visible externally; the base is chamfered and probably once supported polygonal shafts, but these have been replaced by an 18th-century rectangular shaft. An internal end chimney, also of 18th/19th-century red brick, is located to the left. The farmhouse is one storey high with attics, and originally comprised a three-cell lobby-entrance plan. It features 19th-century small-pane casement windows. A 19th-century panelled and half-glazed entrance door is positioned within the original lobby-entrance, protected by a slated canopy supported on shaped brackets. A second 19th-century panelled entrance door is located to the left.
