Description

Capel Farmhouse is a former farmhouse, likely dating from the 17th century. It is two storeys high and features five windows in the main range, with a crosswing to the left. The building is timber-framed and plastered, topped with plaintiled roofs. There are two axial chimneys made of red brick from the 17th or 18th century. The windows are mid-20th century oak-framed casements with leaded lights. The entrance door is boarded and battened, set beneath a gabled timber porch. The crosswing shows evidence of a 17th-century two-tier side purlin roof. The interior has not been examined. The farmhouse is also associated with a medieval moat.
