Description

Little London Farmhouse is an early 17th-century farmhouse, built upon an earlier, possibly medieval, core. It is a hall house of one-and-a-half stories with a narrow, two-story cross-wing to the left. The building is timber-framed and roughcast, originally with pantiled roofs that were once thatched. A 17th-century external chimney is located at the rear of the cross-wing and is constructed of pink/orange brick with three octagonal shafts, rebuilt in the 19th century. There are several 19th and 20th-century casement windows. A projecting gable tiebeam is molded in the 17th-century style. A splayed window positioned beneath the tiebeam exhibits oriel form and may be of 17th-century origin, although it contains a 20th-century casement. An 18th-century casement window with transomes is also present beneath the oriel. A 20th-century half-glazed entrance door has been added. The interior has not been inspected.
