Description

The garden wall extending west from Number 52 Stayer House is a structure dating from the early 18th century to the early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick laid in Flemish bond. The wall features an early 18th-century plinth course and a late 18th-century upper section before a set-off, which indicates the height typical of the 18th century. The wall was raised above this set-off in the early 19th century and has plain coping. At the north-west corner, there is a sloping buttress. The wall continues for 50 meters south-west down The Rookery.
