Description
The service range located immediately northwest of Woodcroft Hall is a disused building dating from the 16th or early 17th century, with some alterations made in the 19th century. It features a timber-framed and plastered structure, with the east side wall facing the house and the ground floor of the gable ends rebuilt in 19th-century colourwashed brick. The roof is tiled with plain tiles on the east side and pantiles on the west. The building is two storeys high, with the east side displaying two three-light casement windows set under segmental arches, and one upper window opening that is slatted. There is a boarded door to the right, along with additional slatted windows on the north and west sides. A 19th-century external stack is located at the south gable end. Inside, some of the original upper floor structure remains, and there is a blocked diamond-mullioned first floor window in the west wall. The roof features coupled rafters with signs of sooting, likely due to a mid-20th-century fire, and parts of the roof have been renewed. The interior has not been fully examined. This building is included for its group value with Woodcroft Hall.
