Description
Barton Mere Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 17th century or earlier, with an extension added in the early 19th century. The building has two storeys and attics, featuring a three-cell plan. It is primarily timber-framed and roughcast, while the left section is constructed of 19th-century painted flint rubble with brick quoins. The roof is covered with double-Roman pantiles and was once thatched, now featuring one 19th-century raking dormer. There is an axial chimney made of red brick from the early 17th century, along with an internal gable chimney of 19th-century red brick on the left side. The windows are mid-20th century steel small-pane casements, and there is a mid-20th century boarded entrance door to the left. The interior has not been examined.
