Description
Treen is a house located in Horham, likely dating from the 16th century. It features a timber frame that is plastered, with part of the facade covered in asbestos sheeting and washed over. The roof is clad in corrugated iron and the building has one and a half storeys. There are two small casement windows, primarily from the 19th century. The house has two stacks, one internal and one on the right gable end. To the right, there is a single-storey addition made of colourwashed brick with a pantiled roof, and in front of this is a mid-20th century flat-roofed addition with an entrance door. The original frame is largely intact and consists of three bays, with reverse-curved braces visible at the left end and long braces on the side walls. There is evidence of several diamond-mullioned windows, including one intact window in the left gable end. The floor and roof structure are mostly concealed.
