Description
Cranley Manor is a farmhouse dating from the early 18th century, featuring a timber frame with an early 19th-century gault brick exterior. The building has a T-shaped plan, consisting of an east-west range with a cross wing at the eastern end, and stands two storeys tall. The façade has a four-window range, with corner pilasters flanking the elevation. There are two 20th-century doors separated by a three-light cross casement window, with similar casements to the left and right. The first floor includes three two-light casements and one three-light casement, all set under artificial stone lintels. The roof is hipped and has two ridge stacks. The eastern wing features a single-window range with similar casements, a lower hipped roof, and a stack on the eastern slope. The rear of the building is roughcast and colourwashed. Inside, there are two-panelled doors on HL hinges and winder staircases beside the stacks. The east room showcases chamfered bridging beams with tongue stops and exposed floorboards on the first floor. The frame includes arched corner braces, and the east first-floor room features a bolection-moulded fireplace.
