Description
The Clamp is a farmhouse built around 1840, featuring a parallel rear range that dates back to the mid-17th century. It is constructed of gault brick and has a hipped slated roof with internal chimneys made of gault brick. The building is two storeys high and has three windows, which are small-pane sashes with moulded cast-iron lintels. The entrance door has six panels, with the upper panels being glazed, and is adorned with an oblong fanlight, a heavy moulded cornice, and pilasters. The rear range has a three-cell plan and includes two storeys and attics. It is timber-framed and roughcast, topped with a plaintiled roof that features a central 19th-century chimney made of gault brick. The exposed 17th-century framing includes chamfered joists laid flat.
