Description

The Old Friary, located on Broad Street in Orford, consists of sub-divided houses dating from the late 16th century to the early 17th century, with remodeling that occurred in the 18th century. The earlier brick facade has mostly been replaced by red brick from the 20th century. Number 71 features a gault brick facade. The buildings have plain tiled roofs, with brick parapets at the gables of Number 72. Notably, the west gable incorporates stone from the Augustinian Friary, which was established around 1294 and originally occupied this site.
