Description

The Great House is a house dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick with a slated, hipped roof. The front has five window bays, featuring recessed sash windows with glazing bars. Each window is topped by a gauged brick arch. A central doorway is accentuated by a prostyle portico constructed from Greek Doric columns and a cornice, along with matching pilasters and a moulded architrave. The doorway itself has a raised and fielded six-panel door, with glazed upper panels and a square fanlight containing glazing bars. A gault brick plat band runs horizontally across the facade. The eaves are defined by a modillion cornice, with two courses of gault brick.
