Description
The group of four urns is located in the center of the formal gardens of Somerleyton Hall and dates from around 1850. They were created by John Thomas for Sir Morton Peto. Made of marble and set on square stone bases, each urn stands approximately 1.3 meters high and features four brackets adorned with lion heads. Originally positioned around the edge of the parterre, the urns were relocated closer together when the formal gardens were rearranged after World War II. They are listed for their group value as part of the formal garden originally designed by Nesfield and are included in the HBMC County Register of Gardens at Grade II*.
