Description

No 19 on Smallgate, formerly known as the White Lion Hotel, is an 18th-century building that stands three storeys high with an attic. It features three original dormers and is constructed of red brick with a plinth. The roof is covered with pantiles. Although the original wood cornice is now missing, brick toothing remains visible. The building has five sash windows with glazing bars, flush frames, and flat arches. The entrance includes a six-panel door set in a wooden case, which is adorned with an arched radial-bar fan, panelled pilasters, and a dentil open pediment.
