Description

Nos 11 to 17 form a group of buildings on Quay Street, dating from the late 13th century. Nos 11 and 17 are set forward 4½ inches and are three storeys high, while Nos 13 and 15 are two storeys high. The buildings are constructed of brick and have been colourwashed. Nos 11, 13 and 15 have tile roofs – pantiles on No 11 and plain tiles on Nos 13 and 15 – while No 17 has a slate roof. They feature eight sash windows with glazing bars, each with a flat arch and key stone detail. The main entrances have reeded frames and three-panelled, bolection moulded doors with arched, plastered tympana. The door of No 17 has been altered, and there is an additional arched doorway leading to a side passage. Photographs are held by the National Monuments Record.
